Kathie's visit

Kathie came to visit, and she and Grandpa went up to Rexburg to watch Annie, Jenna, and Collin while Matt and Rachel went on vacation down South.

Kathie and Amanda bringing flowers from Grandpa's garden down to Grandma's grave.

With Matt and Rachel gone, Kathie and Grandpa came up with a system to keep the kiddos motivated to get along and do their chores. Each started the week with 20 quarters (the price of admission to a magical place called Blast Off). For each no-no, they lost a quarter, and for each good deed they earned one back. Happily, they still arrived at 20 quarters by the end of the week. Blast Off was a blast!
Poor Jenna was buried a little too well and got jumped on. Don't worry, that frown was quickly turned upside down.

Kate

She's our little cutie!

Lydia

Lydia on the second day of school. We planned to take her the first day, but at the last minute she said she wanted to ride the bus. She wears a dress almost every day.

Eric

Eric loves to play with blocks!! Now that Lydia is in school he always asks me with a smile and in a very sweet voice if I want to play with him.

Trip to Colorado

This thing looked like it wanted a hug.

Oops. There goes a jet ski.

But instead of immediately chasing after it, Jonny felt the need to scale the high fence blocking the bridge and jump off it, then go chase after it.

Pretty shot at twilight from the car.

Matt & Rachel's kids

Here is the latest picture of our kids. They're growing so fast. Annie starts kindergarten next week. Holy cow! Grandpa, can you just imagine her as a baby, screaming in your face as you're trying to unbuckle her carseat?? Good times! I can feel it getting cooler up here... already! We're trying to visit the park as much as we can before the dreaded snow returns. This summer went by way too quickly for me. Four months until Christmas... how's that for a shocker! We're also trying to finish up our house by the end of the month. Matt's spending twelve hour days painting and laying tile. Lucky guy. I'm just glad he knows how to do it well and is willing! Anyone who is up this way has a standing invitation at our home!

We all had the best time with Grandpa in Sun Valley.  He was always a part of the fun and was, like usual, the best sport.  He was a member of the LOSING team for our race around town and he didn't hesitate when we asked him to slide down the slippery grass hill!  Thanks for coming Dally Boy!  You always make our vacations more fun.  We love you.

Pics from San Diego

Roy's family had their family reunion in San Diego this year. We all had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the weather.

4th of July Fun!

Lydia took a baton class and got to be in the parade. She decided she would rather hold the flag than twirl her batton. Eric ate so much candy he threw up. At one point I couldn't find Eric and I thought I had lost him (I was busy trying to take pics of Lydia as she was walking by) and then I finally found him hiding under Kate's blanket. Kate really didn't care for the loud music from the bands.

Mischief Maker

Does Collin just look like he's up to trouble or what? His personality is just coming out more and more. All he wants to do is play and laugh... I guess that's probably all I want to do too so I can't blame him!! He is way more rough and tumble than our girls... even Jenna!! I'm loving these kids. We miss you, Grandpa. Hope you're doing really well!!! Love, Rachel
